Al-Wataniya Pharmaceutical Club, represented by its president, Mohamed Fahd Abdullah, in collaboration with the branch of the National Union of Syrian Students at the Al-Wataniya Private University, represented by the president of the union, colleague Mohamed Ahmed Khalil, launched an awareness campaign about breast cancer as the end of October 2024 approaches, given that it ranks second in terms of prevalence worldwide.
To increase community awareness of the risk factors associated with breast cancer, members of the union’s leadership, in collaboration with student body members, organized an intensive awareness campaign targeting the administrative and educational bodies of the university’s faculties. They provided informational cards highlighting the importance of early detection and the preventive measures that should be followed to avoid contracting the disease.
This awareness campaign is a student initiative that sheds light on one of the deadliest and most widespread diseases globally and in the Arab world, taking a step towards promoting good preventive behaviors among women, given their need to understand the causes and symptoms of the disease, as well as the key diagnostic and preventive methods to be adopted.
