The Higher Commission for Academic Research held the 6th Homeland and Overseas Syrian Researchers Conference with the title “Towards a Knowledge-Based National Economy” at Al-Assad National Library, Damascus, in the period from 29th to 31st July 2024. The event was organized under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Academic Research, Dr. Bassam Bashir Ibrahim, and in Cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, the Syrian Virtual University (SVU), and the Arab School for Science and Technology (ASST),.
Represented by the University Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Hazem Melli, Al-Wataniya Private University participates in the conference embracing the conference perspective in establishing active research and applied partnerships among Syrian researchers within the Syrian borders and abroad. Like other participants, the University main aspiration is to provide an efficient and a sustainable communication environment among the expatriates and those who work in the academic and research institutions on the Syrian soil.
The conference themes varied to include those involving information and communication, smart systems, construction, energy and the environment, biotechnology and social and cultural development. Through the discussion of such notions the researchers were introduced to the colossal volume of advancements that require further research in order to respond to the society’s demands of innovative ideas and progressive projects that are based on academic research and research methodology
It is noteworthy that Al-Wataniya Private University spares no effort not only to keep track, but also to keep up with the most recent academic researches as they have great potential, and play a substantial role in the comprehensive development of the economic, academic and social fields.
