Representative of Al-Wataniya Private University in the Workshop of the Higher Commission for Scientific Research
Under the patronage and generous presence of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof.Dr. Bassam Bashir Ibrahim, and on the Amphitheater of the Al-Assad National Library, the Higher Commission for Scientific Research held on Monday, 12/11/2023, a qualitative workshop to shed light on the tasks of the research and development departments that were recently created in the planning directorates. Also the international cooperation in a number of Syrian ministries after being previously proposed by the Higher Commission for Scientific Research.
Al-Wataniya Private University was represented by Dr. Hazem Melli, Vice President of the University for Scientific Affairs, who participated in the scientific workshop, which in turn included distinguished presentations by many doctors and research professors, where Prof. Dr. Majd Al-Jamali – Director General of Higher Commission for Scientific Research- gave a presentation entitled (Mechanisms and Tools for Investing Knowledge ), while Mr. Abdulkarim Khalil – Financial and Administrative Assistant to the Director General of Higher Commission for Scientific Research – presented a presentation under the title (Research and Development Departments and Benefit Prospects), which provided the opportunity for many valuable interventions by Mr. Fadlallah Gharz Al-Din – Assistant to the Chairman of the Planning and International Cooperation Commission – And interventions by representatives of private sector activities and a number of researchers in universities, bodies and research centers.
The workshop topics emphasized the tasks and major role of these research departments in developing scientific research and raising its status. Therefore, the Commission hopes to correct the path of linking and networking between scientific research bodies on the one hand and the productive and service sectors on the other hand through research and development departments in order to maximize the desired benefit from scientific research and investment, to optimize the knowledge and experience of researchers in order to enhance economic and social development in our beloved country.
