In order to assess the results, samples of concrete mixes containing 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% recycled aggregate were prepared and tested. In addition, reinforced concrete columns designated C0, C25, C50, C75 and C100 were fabricated and tested under monotonic biaxial eccentric compression loading using three eccentricity values. The results show that the stress-strain curve for concrete made with recycled aggregates has a similar shape to that of concrete made with natural aggregates, with a lower peak stress and more deformability in the descending branch. The results led to the conclusion that recycled aggregate concrete with a controlled particle size distribution, a plasticizer and a calibrated W\/C ratio could be used for columns subjected to eccentric compression.
