Al-Wataniya Private University’s teams topped the ranks of Private Syrian universities teams participating in the competition, securing the fifteenth place in the final qualifiers of the competition held on August 23-24 at the University of Damascus. The De-Buggers team successfully secured its spot and qualified for the International Collegiate Programming Contest.
The final qualifiers of the 13th season of the programming competition for Syrian universities students witnessed intense competition, with 59 teams from various government and Private Syrian universities participating. Al-Wataniya Private University participated for the third consecutive time with three qualified teams (De-Buggers, Pew Pew Ya Ahmad Ya Mohsen, Salata). These teams demonstrated their competence in the Collegiate Programming Contest among Private universities
The Contest saw high-level competition among participating teams in solving programming problems. The teams from institutions like the High Institute of Lightbing Storm, the Virtual Syrian University, the University of Damascus, and the University of Aleppo claimed the Gold Medals. The silver medals were distributed to two teams from the University of Damascus, the High Institute of Lightbing Storm, and the University of Aleppo. The four Bronze Medals were awarded to teams from Al-Baath University, two to the University of Damascus, and the High Institute of Lightbing Storm
In the same context, this Programming Contest provided a new opportunity for students to represent Al-Wataniya Private University in International Contest. This allowed them to achieve further successes practically by gaining diverse experiences and undertaking new professional endeavors on a new level of work and challenges to reach the desired scientific goals.
The three teams were supervised by Dr. Ammar Rimawi, the Coordinator of the Programming Contest from the Faculty of Engineering at Al-Wataniya Private University out of the 15 Private Syrian universities teams participating in the Syrian Collegiate Programming Contest, the teams were as follows:

It’s worth mentioning that today, Al-Wataniya Private University qualifies, represented by the De-Buggers Team, to participate in the Programming Contest at the African and Arab levels. This follows their participation with the Ping999 Team in the 25th African and Arab
Collegiate Programming Contest (ACPC2022) held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, on December 2, 2022.
