Summary:
The use of horizontal apical sutures (Choukroun’s technique) does not provide any advantage in increasing the width of the attached gingiva. On the other hand, its use leads to an increase in the thickness of the attached gingiva in the surgical area at an average rate of 0.93 mm after one month and 0.92 mm after two months of surgery.
