On 11/2/2023, the British Scientific Journal Advances in Human-Computer Interaction published a scientific paper by the researchers: Eng. TSHD: Topic Segmentation Based on Headings Detection (Case Study: Resumes)
As the magazine falls within the second quarter, Q2, according to Scopus classification
The research presents a new algorithm called TSHD that extracts passages from text documents and identifies their topics, which helps in accessing the required information directly. This improves the quality of many natural language processing applications such as information extraction, information retrieval, summarization, and question answering.
The proposed TSHD algorithm is accurate and addresses several weaknesses of previous studies. The algorithm was applied to extract clips from CVs, where the evaluation results gave a very high F1-score value (about 96%) and a very low clipping error value (about 2%). The algorithm can be easily adapted to handle tracking scripts for different domains that contain URLs for their segments.
