Dr. Samer Tarif Jaber, a researcher at the College of Dentistry at Al-Wataniya Private University, has published a scientific research article titled ”    The Effectiveness of In-house Clear Aligners and Traditional Fixed Appliances in Achieving Good Occlusion in Complex Orthodontic Cases: A Randomized Control Clinical Trial” in the Cureus scientific journal (Part of Springer Nature), which is accredited by the academic medical articles and research database (Mdline pub mede).That the article was published on October 10th, 2022.

The experiment was conducted as part of the PhD. research done by the researcher Dr. Samer Tarif Jaber under the supervision of Prof. Mohammad Younis Hajeer, Professor of Orthodontics at the University of Damascus, and contributed to the authorship of the article, Prof. Ahmad Burhan, Professor of Orthodontics at the University of Damascus. The article was approved by one of the most important orthodontic blogs, the blog of Professor Kevin O’Brien, one of the most prominent professors in the field of orthodontics, where he praised this trial from Syria, indicating the strengths it added to the medical literature.

Scientifically, this article is considered the first worldwide randomized controlled clinical trial to evaluate the effectiveness of in-house clear aligners in orthodontic treatment of complex malocclusion cases requiring extraction of the first premolars compared to conventional fixed orthodontic appliances. The PAR index was used in the evaluation, a tool of high accuracy and reliability in evaluating the improvement in the condition after orthodontic treatment.
