The White Coat Ceremony is a global event with rituals that have been adopted since the 1990s in medical colleges and health-related fields. In recognition of the need to keep up with developments in various fields, Al-Wataniya  University today provides all possible resources and efforts to elevate its students and involve them in their career path appropriately.

The White Coat Ceremony is known as a symbol of students’ transition and entry into the real medical world with confident steps. It is celebrated in the first year before an audience under the auspices of Al-Wataniya  University’s presidency, represented by Prof. Dr. Ahed Khuzam, and attended by deans of medical colleges, other colleges, and their educational and technical staff. It is organized by the university administration in cooperation with the branch of the Syrian National Union for Students at the university, emphasizing the importance of this profession with its humanitarian principles and noble meanings that have been inherited despite advances in medicine and keeping up with scientific developments. This celebration is the first of its kind in Arab Syria and at  Al-Wataniya Private University. Today it serves as a reminder to dental students and pharmacy students that this white coat is an invitation and a call for ethical commitment to work, diligence in learning, respect for their profession despite all difficulties they may face, and working to overcome them. It is an opportunity for research, discovery, knowledge acquisition, compassion, honesty, elevating their profession’s reputation, and building a bright professional life.
