Discussion of the Graduation Projects of the First Batch of Students from the Civil Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering

The Civil Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering, within Al-Wataniya Private University, discussed the graduation projects of the first batch of students in the second semester of the academic year 2022-2023. This took place from Tuesday, August 15th, 2023, to Tuesday, August 22nd, 2023, under the generous sponsorship of the President of Al-Wataniya Private University, Prof. Dr. Ahed Khuzam, and his Deputy for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Hazem Melli. The supervision was carried out by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Abdulkader Al-Jundi.

The research ideas proposed by students varied and covered various fields of Civil engineering, ranging from structural designs and project planning to designing different types of infrastructure (such as buildings, roads, bridges, ports, and water networks), as well as other forms of infrastructure for various types of buildings and constructions (residential, commercial, service-oriented, social, etc.). In this regard, the judging committees overseeing the scientific discussions highlighted the quality and nature of scientific research as it aims to shape modern society through applying engineering skills and principles in developing infrastructure. This leads to increased industrial and service development in our local community.

This discussion provides a real opportunity for students to enhance their knowledge and benefit from a range of scientific and practical observations that provide them with new experiences that can enhance their chances in entering the job market and meeting its requirements and basic needs.

It is worth mentioning the continuous efforts made by the college through its deanship and teaching staff to enhance practical application skills among students while linking them with theoretical aspects. This is necessary for building a knowledge foundation that qualifies students to apply their knowledge and experiences in developing successful practical projects.
