In-house clear aligners
Abstract :
Successive developments in planning and manufacturing clear aligners aim to increase the spectrum of malocclusion cases that can be treated using removable orthodontic appliances. These developments have focused on increasing the ability of clear aligners to provide greater control over orthodontic tooth movement to achieve the desired treatment results.
Recent advances in clear aligner treatment systems have allowed orthodontists to use them to treat a wide range of complex malocclusion cases, including those involving premolar extractions.
This presentation summarized the methods for treatment with clear aligners in orthodontic cases that require the extraction of the first four premolars, in addition to presenting the protocols used in digital virtual setup, in addition to the latest protocol for tooth movement, which was developed within the scope of original scientific research. After that, the clear aligners manufacturing workflow have been reviewed (3D digital scanning, 3D printing, aligners thermoforming).
