The Annual Student  Conference for the academic year 2022-2023 was held on Monday, 8/5/2023 under the auspices and organization of the National Union of Syrian Students, Al-Wataniya Private University Branch, headed by Abdulkarim Al-Naasan, Head of the National Union of Syrian Students Branch at Al-Wataniya Private University, and in the official presence of the President of Al-Wataniya Private University, Prof.Dr. Ahed Khuzam and his deputy for scientific affairs, Dr. Hazem Milli, and Eng. Fayez Estefan, a member of the Executive Office of the National Union of Syrian Students – Head of the Office of Special Education – and in the presence of the deans of colleges and student, educational and administrative bodies, and in the presence of a large crowd of students.

The National Union of Syrian Students – Al-Wataniya Private University Branch – presented a video report containing many of the individual and collective achievements and successes that the students accomplished during the past year, and the various student works and activities witnessed at all educational, recreational and cultural levels, which came as a means to open the door for discussion among the students, and those in charge of the conference about all inquiries and questions related to their educational and academic situation within the university and raising complaints that would improve the conditions surrounding them and develop them for the better.

“A pledge that we renew with knowledge, steadfastness and victory” is a slogan that reflects the extent of interest and keenness of both the National Union of Syrian Students at Al-Wataniyya Private University and the presidency of the university to provide the appropriate environment and climate for students to express themselves in the correct civilized way and put forward their opinions and development proposals in order to work hand in hand on laying the foundations  And work ethics and cooperation between management and students.

The students’ proposals varied, as many of them demanded opening the door to postgraduate studies (master’s and doctoral degrees) in private universities or working to increase the percentage of private university students in public university seats.  The national exam is presented and its materials are very similar to those related to informatics engineering courses. In their speech, the students addressed some issues related to the exam system, the system of downloading materials and exam schedules.

Prof.Dr. Ahed Khuzam stressed the importance of the Annual Student Conference due to the renewal of students’ demands and proposals, and the need to inform the university presidency, its deans, and its various cadres about students’ problems, sense their educational reality, and work to improve it as much as possible,and measuring the extent of its application in practice.

The Student Conference, sponsored by the National Union of Syrian Students, came with various hashtags (#Share_with_us, #Your_voice_responsibility) to involve students from different academic years in the electoral process for candidates for membership in the leadership of the branch (vacancies) of Al-Wataniya Private University and push them towards communicating their ideas and proposals to the authorities responsible for them in the university  to overcome all obstacles, overcome the difficulties in front of them, and push them towards self-realization and success in their professional future.
