Practical Session in Professional Photographic Imaging for Orthodontics

The Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry at the Faculty of Dentistry held a highly important practical training session for fifth-year students on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. The session took place within the dental clinics building and aimed to provide students with the fundamentals and skills of professional photographic imaging for orthodontics, following the most important internationally recognized standards and using the necessary tools and equipment.
Academic Supervision and Practical Application of Aesthetics and Clarity Standards
Under the direct supervision of Dr. Sally Al-Ahmad, Chair of the Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Samer Jaber led the session with the participation of a select group of physicians, including Dr. Bassam Al-Sabbagh and Dr. Noor Al-Obaid.

The Importance of Photography as a Reference Record in the Treatment Plan
Dr. Samer Jaber and Dr. Bassam Al-Sabbagh emphasized the session’s importance in developing and improving students’ skills in handling clinical cases. They explained that photographic imaging in dentistry is an indispensable reference record, enabling the student and clinician to compare the condition before and after treatment with great precision, clearly recognize treatment outcomes, and present them to the patient in a convincing and transparent manner.
The Faculty of Dentistry reaffirms its commitment to providing a practical learning environment that ensures the graduation of dentists equipped with the latest global tools and skills by giving them both the theoretical and practical knowledge of essential diagnostic and treatment instruments.
