Al-Wataniya Private University – Hama

From Al-Wataniya Private University, Professor Dr. Walid Sahyouni — Director of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center at Homs University and Advisor to the Presidency of Al-Wataniya Private University for Quality and Accreditation Affairs — participated in the Arab Network Advisory Council meeting via Zoom. He attended in his capacity as (Member of the Arab Network for Quality in Higher Education Advisory Council, representing the Syrian Arab Republic; and Member of the Syrian National Authority for Quality and Accreditation Board of Commissioners )

The meeting discussed a proposal by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) to conduct a comparative study assessing the alignment of Arab countries’ accreditation and quality assurance standards with CHEA’s own criteria. The study aims to identify any additional standards requiring review, paving the way for CHEA to formally recognize several Arab national accreditation and quality assurance bodies — upon their formal request.

This second meeting of the Advisory Council reaffirms its pivotal role in strengthening the foundational operations of the Arab Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, supporting the Network’s strategic objectives, enhancing the quality of higher education across the region, and improving the scientific and professional outcomes of its academic programs.
