As part of strengthening the link between theoretical education and practical application, the Deanship of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Al-Wataniya Private University organized a specialized scientific trip for its students to the Rifa Pharmaceutical Industries plant in Idlib Governorate. This visit is a key component of the college’s ongoing efforts to expand students’ pharmaceutical knowledge and prepare them for the professional labor market.

Details and Objectives of the Scientific Trip

The trip took place on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, under the supervision and presence of Dr. Abdul Karim Maghmouma, Deputy Dean of the Faculty. The primary goal was to enable students to closely observe modern drug manufacturing mechanisms and the standard operating procedures (SOPs) followed in the Syrian pharmaceutical industry.

A Detailed Tour of Pharmaceutical Production Lines

The program began with a comprehensive introductory lecture on the history and achievements of the Rifa Pharmaceutical Plant. This was followed by a detailed presentation by the plant’s technical staff regarding their diverse range of pharmaceutical products and advanced production lines.

To ensure maximum practical benefit, Dr. Omar Bakour, Production Manager at the Rifa Plant, led an extensive guided tour. Students were divided into small groups to facilitate direct learning. During the tour, Dr. Bakour provided a thorough explanation of:

  • Specialized Departments: Detailed workflows within the facility.
