The “Chill Guys” Team from Al-Wataniya Private University Achieves 20th Place in the ACPC 2025 Regional Programming Competition

Al-Wataniya Private University has achieved an unprecedented historical accomplishment at the level of Syrian private universities, through the crowning of its programming team “Chill Guys” in twentieth place in the prestigious regional programming competition for Arab and African universities (ACPC) in its 2025 edition. The activities of this major competition took place in the city of Luxor, Arab Republic of Egypt, amidst exceptional competition involving 151 teams representing 80 universities from 12 Arab and African countries.
The “Chill Guys” team includes Professor Dr. Hazem Milli, Vice President of the University for Academic Affairs – the academic supervisor of the competition, Dr. Samar Al-Halabi, the competition coordinator at Al-Wataniya Private University, and students Darrar Abdul Razzaq Al-Hamsh, Obada Muhammad Mahdi Al-Khawam, and Yazan Mamdouh Al-Homsi Al-Attar.
This achievement represents the best result ever achieved by any Syrian private university in the history of its participation in the ACPC programming competition, which consolidates the position of Al-Wataniya Private University as a leading and distinguished academic destination in the field of information technology and programming sciences at the local and regional levels. The crowning of the “Chill Guys” team, consisting of students from the Faculty of Informatics Engineering at the university, is the culmination of a long journey of excellence, as the team had previously won first place at the level of Syrian private universities and the bronze medal at the general Syrian national level in the SCPC 2025 qualifying competition.
This successful participation comes within the framework of Al-Wataniya Private University’s strategy aimed at strengthening its active and distinguished presence in Arab and international scientific forums, and under the direct patronage and support of the university administration represented by the President, Professor Dr. Ahed Khuzam, and his deputies, with close follow-up by the competition’s scientific supervisor, Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Hazem Milli, and direct supervision by the university’s programming competition coordinator, Dr. Samar Al-Halabi.
This brilliant achievement is tangible evidence of the quality of the educational environment and the specialized training provided by the Faculty of Informatics Engineering at Al-Wataniya Private University, represented by the Dean, Professor Dr. Hani Al-Khatib, which directly reflects on empowering and preparing its students to compete passionately and achieve top positions in prestigious international competitions.
