The Annual General Assembly Meeting of the Al-Wataniya Company For Science & Development Private Join-Stock

Presided over by Mr. Samir Al-Barazi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Company for Science and Development, the final annual meeting of the General Assembly of Shareholders for the academic year 2024–2025 was held in the Central Auditorium at Al-Wataniya Private University, with the attendance of representatives from the General Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection at the Ministry of Economy and Industry, members of the Boards of Directors and Trustees, and the university’s senior administration.
Mr. Samir Al-Barazi opened the session by presenting a detailed financial report for the National Company for Science and Development covering the period from 1 September 2024 to 31 August 2025.
He also highlighted the significant growth in student numbers, noting increases in:
Newly admitted students
Students benefiting from scholarships offered by the Ministry of Higher Education
Graduates across various faculties
For his part, Dr. Hazem Malli, Vice President for Academic Affairs, presented a comprehensive report on the key academic achievements of Al-Wataniya Private University during the year, which included:
The university’s scientific journal obtaining an international serial number (ISSN Online 3105-2150), making it the first private university in Syria to achieve this milestone.
Indexing the journal’s research papers in the global database Google Scholar.
Organizing a series of scientific events, including conferences, workshops, and specialized lectures.
Publishing a distinguished number of scientific research papers, review articles, and student research projects.
Participants discussed the university’s development and expansion plans, including:
Opening new faculties following the completion of the Faculty of Pharmacy building, one of the university’s most prominent projects last year.
Continuing the plan to develop campus buildings and facilities in accordance with the highest standards of priority and quality.
Reviewing projected budgets and final accounts with full transparency.
The report also emphasized the role of Al-Wataniya Private University in social solidarity through:
Offering scholarships to students from the Orphans Association in Hama.
Supporting financially needy students who meet the criteria of the Student Support Fund.
The meeting concluded with the Board of Directors presenting a set of ambitious developmental proposals aimed at:
Strengthening academic agreements with other educational institutions
Recruiting full-time postgraduate degree holders to enhance human resources
Developing academic curricula to meet labor-market requirements
Continuing to introduce new specializations and faculties to enhance competitiveness and educational quality
