The Impact of Credit Policies on the Profit of Commercial Banks Listed in Damascus Securities Exchange

Abstract

The research aimd to Study the impact of changing the credit policies of commercial banks listed on the Damascus Securities Exchange and then analyze the impact of these policies on the rate of return on assets through three indicators represent the activity, liquidity, and financial structure. Analytical method was adopted through a presentation of development of some indicators of financial performance during 2013-2022.

Moreover, some results were come out: The credit policy had a role in stabilizing of employment rate, and the openness credit policy reflected positively on the employment rate, which contributed to a high employment rate. The credit policy on another side didn’t contribute to the stability of the asset turnover rate, nor did to raising or stabilizing the rate of return on assets and the return on ownership rights, whether before or after the exclusion of structural profit. The credit policy had an indirect role in the decline in the financial leverage ratio.
