Al-Wataniya Private University’s Quality and Accreditation Directorate Holds Meetings on Policy Development
The Directorate of Quality and Accreditation at Al-Wataniya Private University, represented by Dr. Hazem Milli, the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Director of Quality and Accreditation, Ms. Hiba Shehadeh, the Head of Accreditation, Eng. Christine Abdullah, the Head of Quality, and Ms. Lama Al-Khani, the Head of Documentation, convened a comprehensive meeting with the Deans of the Faculties of Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering and Urban Planning, and Administrative and Financial Sciences, along with the heads and members of the quality committees within these faculties. This meeting was held to discuss development proposals for the operational policies of the quality and accreditation system at Al-Wataniya Private University.
During the meeting, the Director and Heads of Quality and Accreditation discussed several common points with the faculty deans and quality committees. Key among these was the identification of scientific research areas and the discussion of annual plans in alignment with the objectives of the approved academic plans for the faculties. Dr. Hazem Milli emphasized the importance of collecting and archiving electronic syllabi for courses within the faculty dean’s offices and the university’s Academic Affairs Office. He stressed the necessity of ensuring the implementation of courses according to their specifications and submitting a comprehensive report on the scientific activities conducted by the faculties throughout the academic year.
Dr. Hazem Milli, the Director of Quality and Accreditation, also underscored the need for faculties to prepare reports on their courses and submit them to the Vice President for Academic Affairs Office at the end of each semester, following the approved template / Annual Course Report 02.02 JF in the Course File Preparation Guidelines 02 WI. Furthermore, Dr. Milli suggested that faculty deans continuously work on updating academic plans and courses to align with current realities and developments in the job market.
The meeting participants, including the faculty deans and their deputies, also discussed the mechanism for determining the office hours of faculty members to coordinate the process of responding to student inquiries. They also explored how to incorporate a template for organizing meetings between supervising professors and graduating students and adopted a mechanism for evaluating graduation projects during discussions, emphasizing the need to prepare a comprehensive final report to facilitate the evaluation of graduation projects across all faculties.
The Directorate of Quality and Accreditation organizes this periodic series of meetings as part of its responsibility to organize and coordinate work with quality committees in the faculties. This initiative aims to develop executive policies and application procedures that will serve scientific research, improve academic outcomes, and elevate the performance of the institutional system to meet the highest quality and accreditation standards in higher education.
